Pourpoint and Viscosity Impover

Pour point depressants are polymers that allow oil and lubricants to flow at very low temperatures without excessive wax formation and allow the oil to remain pumpable (flowable). They are typically used in paraffinic base oils in applications where extremely low engine start temperature conditions are possible.

A VI-improver is a complex polymer additive that expands at elevated temperatures to thicken the lubricant and provide a more stable and consistent viscosity. This ensures that the lubricant fully protects the equipment at both low and high temperatures.
